About Us

Bal Vikas Dhara (BVD) is a registered Non-Government Organization, has been working in Delhi NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan & some part of Haryana in the field of child development, women empowerment, youth employability, waste management and empowerment activities for more than 3 decades. Bal Vikas Dhara had mainly focused on unorganized sector’s workers as for example- Rag Pickers, daily wage labour who engaged in the exploitative environment, since the year 1993.

It provides necessary training, motivation and skills to women entrepreneurs and youth for critically analyzing their problems and to come out with suitable plan of action for their development. The training is entirely based on participatory learning methods. Hence, according to the local problems and issues, the development activities in environment, health, education, collective employment etc are undertaken. It has established links with various national & international NGOs, Government and other agencies and is undertaking consultancy, and training and support service.

BVD has conducted several research studies in Delhi on the issues of rights of Rag pickers in 2008, national level survey and study on the issues of quality education status in India in 2000, Domestic women workers issues in 2005 and 2012, Door to Door survey/study to know status of slum population and poor economically poor peoples in 2009-11, Toilet status in Primary school on the safety point of girls in 2013, Baseline study in 2010 with Offbeat Innovations Management, Water quality in Delhi in 2013 with CMS Delhi.
